Diabetes - How to control blood sugar naturally
A whopping 86+million people in the U.S, over the age bracket of 22 have pre-diabetes. Diabetes is currently the fifth deadliest disease in America. The problem with Diabetes is that most patients aren’t even aware that they have diabetes. The best way to understand is look for the tell-tale signs which could mean an early onset of diabetes. Frequent needs for urination, being thirstier more than often, dry mouth, continuous hunger and extreme fatigue are few of the initial warning signs.
Why is Diabetic prevention so important?
Well, diabetes results in higher-than-average levels of glucose, a form of sugar, in your blood. The changing level of body fluid results in the lenses in the human eye to swell up and lose focus. This results in a sensation of blurred vision. Also chronic diabetes can lead to neuropathy which means damaging of the nerve primarily the optic nerve and can result in blindness.
The most common medical tests to establish diabetes are the fasting plasma glucose test and the oral glucose tolerance test. While fasting plasma glucose is used to measure your blood sugar levels after 8-hour fasting , the oral glucose tolerance test is used to measure your blood sugar levels after fasting and then again 2 hours after you have consumed a very sweet drink.
What does Chiropractic say about Diabetes?
The question is: Why would we use toxic and poisonous (side-effects) drugs and pills to treat an already sick pancreas (resulting in Diabetic symptoms)? An expert Chiropractor “activates” the nervous system through rib cage “adjustments” and aids in passage of more oxygen into the body. This results in enhanced communication between the brain and nervous system, thereby achieving hormonal balance, improving overall liver and adrenal functioning.
- Natural Herbal Therapy: A natural herbal therapy could be great for Blood glucose control and diabetes cure. Plants such as Aloe vera, Bilberry extract, Bitter melon, Ginger have anti-diabetic properties. However, natural therapies when taken in unmeasured quantities could have adverse effects leading to other complications.
- Avoid alcohol consumption: Beer and sweet wine contains high levels of carbohydrates and can spike up blood sugar. Alcohol tends to interfere with any oral diabetic pills or insulin intakes. The intoxication caused due to alcohol could increase appetite, which can cause you to overeat, affecting your blood sugar levels.
- Healthy Diet and Exercise: A healthy diet low in sugar and starchy carbohydrates and consisting of organic natural foods, is definitely a starting ground for controlling blood sugar levels. Choose an exercise that you enjoy. Walking at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week could help significantly.
